A Day of A SiFly Employee. Meet Deso.

Welcome to our recurring blog series, "A Day of a SiFly Employee"! Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing one of our fantastic staff members. Let's dive right in and get to know them better.

1.    What’s your role at SiFly, and how did you end up joining this exciting team?

Hey, I’m Deso! I’m 21 years old, and have multiple roles at SiFly — a mechanic, technical staff member, and an eFoil coach. I developed a passion for mechanics as a kid and have been working on motorbikes and cars since I was 13. I also have a deep love for kitesurfing, and during the summers I used to work at a surf school in Gradina, Bulgaria, as an instructor. There, I met Alex, SiFly’s CEO. As he was looking for a versatile employee to assist in the workshop, handle repairs, and give lessons, Alex offered me the job. Since then, I've been working with SiFly, and actively contributing to the companies success.

2.    Take us through a typical day in the life of a SiFly employee. What are some of the tasks and challenges you face?

My schedule is incredibly dynamic, and there's hardly anything "typical" about it. On workshop days, we kick off with a staff meeting where we discuss problem-solving and ongoing innovations. We then strategize and dive right into our tasks. However, I must admit that I particularly enjoy traveling abroad to service our clients' eFoils. These days are filled with unpredictability and excitement. Currently, I'm on such a trip in Turkey, moving from one hotel to another to inspect our boards before the season starts. Just yesterday, I visited six different locations, and I have covered a distance of over 3,000 kilometers in just five days! Not too bad if I do say so myself!

3.    SiFly is known for its innovative eFoils and cutting-edge features. As an employee, what's your favorite board or feature, and why?

My personal favorite board is the SiFly R. It's just the perfect balance of comfort, ease of riding, and maneuverability. It feels so good to ride, and it's surprisingly quick too!

But you know what gets me really excited? There's a new feature coming soon to the SiFly lineup—the folding propeller. This thing is a game-changer! It makes riding the waves so much easier and more enjoyable. I can't wait for everyone to try it out. It's going to completely transform the eFoil experience!
 




4.    SiFly's eFoils are designed to provide an exhilarating and unique experience on the water. Can you share a memorable story or a remarkable experience you had with our products?


Picture this: It was a remarkable day in Turkey last year, and I was testing a freshly serviced eFoil in the most stunning lagoon you can imagine — white sandy beach and crystal clear, with a mesmerising turquoise hue. As I was riding the eFoil, I spotted a gigantic sea turtle gliding through the water. It was the first time I had ever seen one up close, and let me tell you, it was absolutely mind-blowing! I couldn't resist the urge to ride around it, and guess what? The turtle didn't seem to mind at all. It was like we were just two cool buddies hanging out in the water. That moment will forever be etched in my memory as one of the coolest things I've ever experienced.

5.    Apart from the incredible work you do at SiFly, what's something about yourself that you'd like our readers to know? Any interesting hobbies or talents that might surprise us?

In my free time, I'm like to tear up the mountains near Sofia on my motocross bike. It's where I get my fix of adrenaline by climbing hills, catching airs, and pushing myself to the limit (Don’t tell my mother!) On top of my motocross adventures, I recently discovered a new passion that has been growing steadily over the past two months—indoor climbing. It's becoming a big part of my life, and I can't get enough of it!
